A HAPPY ENDING

A HAPPY ENDING

The story of ‘Le Bontà di Edo’ is the story of its founder, Edoardo Fasce

It is September 1971 and little Edoardo Fasce is only a few months old when he starts to fall sick.
The doctors don’t recognize the symptoms of celiac disease and the child’s condition gets worse.
A few years later, almost at death’s door, he is admitted to Gaslini Hospital in Genoa and there, at last, the doctors recognized his disease. Those were very difficult years for Edoardo and his family.
All his food had to be prepared exclusively at home and not a single deviation from the rules was possible

From pizzas to gluten-free

At that time, the Fasce family owned a company that produced pizzas. Little by little, in order to meet Edoardo’s needs, they began to develop gluten-free products, at first for family use.
By the time the scale of gluten intolerance was widely understood, the company had already built up considerable experience.
The production of pizzas was expanded and Edoardo, by now an adult, founded ‘Le Bontà di Edo’, entirely dedicated to the production of gluten-free foods.
